The brief
Quickly build a WebXR calling card for a studio that creates immersive content in game engines (Unreal Engine 5). The scene had to be ready for an event with potential investors and to be available both in a flat browser and in VR mode on compatible headsets.
Context
RubySpot.xyz is a studio that shoots 360° video and assembles immersive content in Unreal Engine 5. For an event with investors it needed an interactive presentation that is not limited to an ordinary website or a PDF pitch, but lets people step into the atmosphere of the studio right in the browser or in VR.
The showing took place in the USA — an industry XR conference in Long Beach, June 2025; by dates and place this is AWE USA (10–12 June).
WebXR as a format was a deliberate choice: it requires no app installation, works on any compatible device, and A-Frame makes it possible to assemble a scene within a tight deadline without heavy production.
Solution
The WebXR scene is assembled in A-Frame. A demo video showing the studio’s capabilities is integrated into the scene. The scene is adapted for two modes: flat viewing through a browser and an immersive VR mode on compatible headsets.
What I did personally
- Designed the structure of the WebXR scene
- Built the scene in A-Frame
- Set up the demo video integration
- Made sure it works both in flat mode and in VR
Stack
- A-Frame
- WebXR
Skills
- WebXR development
- fast assembly of interactive 3D scenes
- the immersive web
- presenting immersive content to investors
Result
The outcome is a working WebXR calling card, available at rubyspot.xyz. The scene was used at an industry XR conference in the USA (Long Beach, June 2025), demonstrating the studio’s approach to immersive content through the direct experience of immersion rather than a static presentation.
Case video
A recording of the scene in a headset: panels with studio content and the showreel, the demo environment and a model inside it. The frame is square — that is how the material was recorded.
