Mnemoform
Mnemoform is a project about translating memories, bodily signals and personal stories into tangible forms — not only physical objects, but also generative graphics and sound. What interests me here is not an abstract art metaphor but a working pipeline: how an experience, a voice, a pulse, the spectrum of an audio signal or another biosensor becomes a form that can be printed, used and kept.

The essence
Mnemoform is a project about translating memories, bodily signals and personal stories into tangible forms — not only physical objects, but also generative graphics and sound. What interests me here is not an abstract art metaphor but a working pipeline: how an experience, a voice, a pulse, the spectrum of an audio signal or another biosensor become a form that can be printed, used and kept — or experienced through generative visualisation in TouchDesigner and MIDI signals for music in Ableton.
Status and horizon
Right now this is a project-research contour with a demo that already exists. An important next step is to describe it not only as a beautiful idea but as a reproducible pipeline: from a story about a memory, a biosignal or telemetry to the form, geometry, parametric variation, texture and function of a physical object — or to generative graphics and a musical pattern.
Why now
The theme of memory and digital identity often stays either in text or in a purely visual metaphor. Mnemoform matters as an attempt to translate it into a physical thing that can be interacted with by hand, kept and built into everyday life. But the project is not limited to 3D printing — the same data can become generative graphics in real time through TouchDesigner or a musical pattern through MIDI in Ableton. What interests me here is precisely the bridge between an abstract experience and a material form across different sensory modalities.
In an art&science optics this can be read as a study of how data acquires a body and memories acquire a form: when subjective experience stops being just a number on a screen and turns into a tangible object, a living visualisation or a sound. And in applied logic it is an attempt to make sure that a memory or a state does not dissolve in the archive of a phone but gets a medium — be it a physical object, a generative scene or a sound pattern.

Immediate focus

The logic of the project
At the core of Mnemoform lies the idea that a memory, an emotional pattern or a biosignal can become not just a picture but a physical object. It can be:
- an object born from a story about an important memory;
- a form changing under
EEGdata; - a surface or the rhythm of a structure depending on the pulse;
- an object assembled from the telemetry of wearable devices, including smart watches;
- a thing where function and memory do not contradict each other.
There is strong potential here for working with EEG, pulse sensors, voice and wearable electronics. This is no longer only about the symbolic “here is an artefact of my memory” but also about a more living biofeedback: how the body and the state take part directly in creating the form.
A separate scenario I want to develop is the correlation of wearable telemetry with a photograph. Apple Health already aggregates pulse, steps, sleep and other patterns — they lie there waiting for someone to match them with a photo from the same day and hour. In that case the object gets a double texture: not only what was seen but also what was happening inside at that moment. This turns wearable data from personal statistics into material for form.
Speaking more technically, I am interested in the very parametric logic of translating a signal into an object. For instance, the amplitude, rhythm, spectral richness or other characteristics of audio can control the height, thickness, periodicity, density, curvature and other morphological parameters of the future thing. That is, it is not just about a “beautiful wave” but about a system of correspondences between a digital signal and geometry.

What is needed next

- turn the demo into a convincing proof of concept for partners and the team.
To be honest, it is very easy here to drift into beautiful speculative design without a clear user experience. That is why expressiveness alone is not enough for me: subject-matter persuasiveness matters too, so that it is clear why this object is the way it is, what exactly influenced it and what makes it valuable beyond its unusualness.

Results / potential
Mnemoform is good because it translates a very abstract theme of memory and digital identity into a clear material gesture. Here art, sensors, fabrication and personal stories can be joined in a form that is understandable even to someone outside XR and AI contexts, and the existence of a demo already gives the project not only an idea but also proof of viability. The expansion into generative graphics and sound makes the project multimodal — a memory can sound and move, not just stand on a shelf. This is one of those projects where I especially like the meeting of the digital and the tactile.
